The weather was very kind to us for our annual garden party this year, after a couple of years when visitors had to take shelter from the rain. Over 50 members, guests and visitors saw the garden at Little Orchard House in brilliant sunshine and enjoyed the cream teas and other refreshments. The "secret" garden is situated in the middle of the Citadel area of the town, not visible from the streets outside, and was looking at its very best.

Society's Christmas Celebration
Fifty members attended our Christmas Celebration on Friday 7 December, in the splendid setting of the Council Chamber at Rye Town Hall.
We were glad that Amber Rudd MP and Rye's Deputy Mayor, Bernadine Fiddimore, were able to join us.
Members enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with news and renew their memberships. We all much appreciated the excellent buffet provided by Rae Festing, the good wine, organised by John Pope, and the fact that the Town Hall's central heating system was working well on a very chilly evening. Many thanks to all those involved in organising another successful Christmas Celebration.
The Society is planning events for 2013 and more information will follow in due course. We can already confirm the date for the 2013 AGM which will be Friday 12 April, 11.30 am at the Town Hall, followed by the annual lunch at The Mermaid Inn.
